Ingredients:
- 1 lb. of dry Chickpeas, soaked overnight
- 2 medium or 1 large Onion
- 2 large Tomatoes
- 1 piece of Ginger
- 1 bulb of Garlic
- 4-5 pieces of Green Chillies
- 2 tbsps. of Chickpea Spice (Available in South Asian Stores)
- Salt, Pepper, Red Chillies – as per taste
Cooking Directions:
- Soak the chickpeas overnight in sufficient water.
- Cook the lentils in a pressure cooker for 45 min. Save the extra water.
- Dice onions, tomatoes, green chillies, ginger and garlic into small pieces.
- In a fry pan, sauté onions. Add ginger and garlic when onions start to caramelize.
- Add tomatoes and stir until it becomes gravy. Add water if consistency is thick.
- Add salt, pepper, red chillies and chickpea spices.
- Add the gravy to the boiled chickpeas.
- Dish is ready to serve. Enjoy!
